Greetings GreenWheatonites,

If you missed the showing of "Bag it:  Is your life too Plastic" at Brookside Gardens this past Monday, you have another chance to see it on Feb 4th at the Washington Ethical Society on 16th St (near the Silver Spring border.)

Come see the award-winning film, Bag It: Is Your Life Too Plastic, on Saturday, Feb 4 at 7:30 PM, at the Washington Ethical Society (7750 16th St., NW, in DC). What started as a documentary about plastic bags evolved into a wholesale investigation into plastics and their effect on our waterways, oceans, and even our bodies.  We recycle or throw away plastics every day -- but where is “away?”  Find out in this engaging and often funny movie. Bag It is especially relevant since both Montgomery County, MD (starting January 1, 2012) and DC levy a five-cent tax on paper and plastic shopping bags. The film runs 65 minutes, followed by discussion. $5 donation requested. Snacks provided.

Happy New Year,
Elizabeth Chaisson
